READ & HEED!

Power concedes nothing without demand! Those who have neglected the duties of good citizenship, for what ever reason, bear full responsibility, for the incremental loss of our freedoms and the theft of the fruits of our labors that is going on in America today.

Those simple duties of good citizenship ignored in the past have now become the struggle of today.

This struggle ignored today, can and will, become the more tyrannical enslavement of your future!

By not fulfilling your patriotic obligation to the politics of America in the past you have allowed those criminals who have hijacked our government for there own selfish ends to attain great power. Left unchecked, this power will only become more tyrannical. That criminal power must be eliminated. Those who malinger and hope and dream of change without involvement are fools.

It never did and it never will . . . . Consider these words of Frederick Douglas, a former slave, spoken in 1857:

Let me give you a word of the philosophy of reforms. The whole history of the progress of human liberty shows that all concessions yet made to her august claims have been born of struggle . . . . . If there is no struggle there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom and yet deprecate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. The struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical, but it must be a struggle. Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will . . . .

And this from the poet Shelly . . .

Rise like lions after slumber

In unvanquishable number!

Shake your chains to earth, like dew

Which in sleep had fallen on you-

Ye are many; they are few!

2/9/03  This article, in part, was inspired by the current love affair that a number of my more easily swayed fellow Americans have suddenly developed for the the term "preemptive strike", and the statement, 'War is sometimes the morally correct thing to do!'. And so I give you -- before the war on Iraq -- a preemptive strike for freedom and a morally correct war to fight . . .

A preemptive strike for freedom!

The Ultimate War . . .
The War On Greed!
We have conquered Nazism and Soviet Communism -- we now turn to the next clear and common enemy -- the Greedos!

Fear and anxiety by design . . .
After a while you come to the realization that all of this uncertainty, anxiety, and misery in America, is by design.
You realize it is purposefully created by those who are motivated -- compelled -- by their own deep seated insecurities and fear.
The most telling aspect of their affliction is their greed.

The Greedos - Flawed Human Beings.
After a while you come to realize that the corporate powers who now firmly control the nation that put a man on the moon could just as easily feed the poor, house the homeless, get its military off of food stamps, and provide equal opportunity for all Americans.
You realize that they could do it in a heart beat -- with out even breaking a sweat -- if they wanted to.
But they don't want to.
They can't.
Why?
Because they are powerless to conquer their own insecurities!
They are character disordered human beings.
Deep down inside these corporate captains are timid cowards who are in reality fearful of life and terrified of not getting their own needs met.
Your freedom, and the competition it would present them with, is a major contributing factor to that terror and insecurity that they constantly struggle with.
That is why they keep you suppressed with their corruptly legislated protectionist laws and the unjust enforcement of those laws.
Your subjugation, your anxiety, and your fear, is their security.
With elitist eyes, the greedos view others in the world as a threat to their wealth that must be controlled and subdued with hypocrisy, guns, and greed, rather than engaged fairly with democracy, trust, and freedom.
They are control freaks.
A fitting epitaph for their tomb stones would be "Poor Me. Never Enough!".

The Exact Same Dynamic!
The UN - Used and Abused . . .
One Set of Laws - Two Sets of Enforcement - Its the Same Old Crap in a Different Suit!

The Basics . . .
All governments, of any type, perform a basic societal function.
They make laws and they enforce those laws.
From dictatorship to free and open democracy, those two basic elements -- with varying degrees of sophistication -- are always there.
Rules and enforcement of the rules.
Regardless of your politics, and whether you think it should exist or not, the United Nations does serve as a world body that makes rules. They are put forth as Security Council Resolutions.
The problem with the UN is that it has no consistent way to enforce the rules.
Nation states, with self interests in mind, selectively pick and choose which resolutions they will get behind to enforce.
As I have said many times before, it is not the systems that suck, it is the hypocrisy and corruption in the systems that sucks!

"The key question is whether Iraq's flouting of a UN resolution justifies war. This is the question the world is asking. Secretary Powell's presentation does not come close to answering it.
One might well come away from his briefing thinking that the Iraqis are the only ones in flagrant violation of UN resolutions. Or one might argue that there is more urgency to the need to punish the violator of Resolution 1441 than, say, of Resolution 242 of 1967 requiring Israel to withdraw from the Arab territories it occupied that year. More urgency? You will not find many Palestinians, Arabs, Muslims who would agree."

Some questions that might be worth considering before pulling the trigger on Iraq;

Where's Osama?
Well connected Saudi Osama.
Osama with all the wealthy greedo friends in Saudi Arabia who are connected so tightly with our present government in Washington.
Osama from Saudi Arabia, the country that spawned the brunt of the terrorists that trashed the twin towers.

Do you think that so publicly announcing the battle strategy, "Shock and Awe" -- an overwhelming raining down of cruise missile death and destruction on Bagdad -- would increase or decrease the penchant for terrorism in those who are already very angry about our treatment of Arabs in the middle east? Said another way; would they like us more or want to kick our asses more? Is this smart policy? Does it endanger Americans? Is it why we are in code orange?

Is this war mostly about oil, or might it possibly be about -- and I know it is horrible to even think like this -- but might it have something to do with ethnic subjugation?
Does this war have any parallels in American history?
Is George Bush a cowboy?
Do you think there are any cowboys in France and Russia?
Do you think the world should trust cowboys?
Which UN resolution do you think it is more urgent to implement, Resolution 242, or 1441?
Should this be done before or after dealing with North Korea, or all three simultaneously?
If you could spend the 200 billion dollars that is projected for the war in Iraq, either on the war or on something else, what would you buy!

A Matter of Conscience!
Impeach Bush! Stop War!
It Is A Time To Prioritize - A Time To Join Together - A Time To Set Aside Our Personal Bickerings And Unite For Our Greatest Common Good - Our Freedom!

Two web sites that can change the world . . .

I just submitted by name at both of these web sites. I urge you to do the same. The first is to vote to stop the war. The second to impeach Bush. Click the type below.

http://www.votenowar.org/referendum.html

http://www.votetoimpeach.org/

Thank divine providence, or what ever you may believe in, for the internet.
I did not learn of the existence of either one of these above web sites in the mainstream media. I found out about them on the internet by communicating with other people from all over the world. Tell your friends and neighbors. Speak out.
For the record, I am a luke warm fan of some of the sponsors of these two web sites above. I also greatly admire some of them.
These are pivotal and uncertain times however and coalitions for the common good of freedom and Free Speech must be recognized. We can go back to our bitching each other out after we stop the war and impeach Bush.
My desire to impeach Bush is not based solely on his propensity for war. It is my firm belief that he is a deeply character flawed individual that has sold America out with his disingenuous manipulation of the American public for his own self interests and the interests of his crooked corporate cronies who bought him his presidency.

The New Journalism . . .
The 'War On Greed' Song!
The Internet - Salvation of Freedom . . .

Sweet irony . . . Just when they thought they had you by the short hairs!
If there is any one thing most responsible for the opposition to the current greed mongering going on in America, and in the world, it is the internet.
Mainstream media has taken a rightfully deserved pummeling.
Many of the issues now discussed in the mainstream media are getting attention only as a result of the pressure of those issues being exposed and discussed on the internet. They (mainstream media), have reluctantly been dragged, kicking and screaming, into the fray.
This is a good thing! Hurrah!
The technology is truly democratic in nature and has helped to level the playing field in the area of mass communications.
My hat is off to the producers of the thousands of alternative web sites, and web logs (blogs) available on the internet today that oppose this corporate juggernaut of greedos.
New web publications are springing up daily. Here is a recent example worthy of your attention;http://www.thenation.com/outrage/
The process of linking is being used to build many coalitions of ideas and broaden the thinking of people all over the world. Each person's computer is now a synaptic junction in the aggregate brain of human kind. Here is an example of an excellent web log that will expose you to a broad variety of thoughtful, interesting, and very challenging commentary and dialogue MATT WELCH.com
Access to foreign publications is now a piece of cake that gives the common folks a look through a brand spanking new window to the world. Here's a sample newindia.com, note the similarity of ideas expressed in this article from the world's largest democracy and the 'War On Greed' article above on this page.
Along with more forthright and compelling content continually being created on the internet there is also an ever enlarging base of people coming on board to access that content.
The next leap forward in on line journalism will be in motion graphic and aural communications, in the form of stand alone, or as linked complements to text presentations. Everyone will soon be cranking out their own little op ed newsreels, their own little movies. The technology is becoming more accessible in terms of price and learning curve. Regular folks are coming on board in droves. This will favor right brain thinking (women) and it will be interesting to see how this plays out over the longer term.
Increased band width, airport type technologies, improved page pre-loading schemes that anticipate where you are going, and e-ink, all within the next eighteen months, will put the 'New Journalism' on everyone's Dick Tracy watch, belt buckle or pendant. Here's a sample. [below] For now it works best with a DSL or better connection. Flash player is required.
You probably already have a Flash player on your browser. If not you can download it at Macromedia. If the words do not keep up with the music (drop frames) increasing the memory petition available to your browser, and or, shutting down other unused programs, will help. The images are low resolution so as to speed up the player to allow it to work for those with slower systems.

The Local Saint Augustine Scene . . .
The War On Greed In Microcosm!
The Greedo Merchants of Saint Augustine Continue Their Rape and Plunder of the City. . .

Fear and anxiety by design on the local level . . .
A Smaller Scale -- The Same Dynamic -- A Wonderful Place to Learn . . .

Life is as it should be when the 'pillars' of the community are stimulating the rest of us common folks to engage in just causes like defending freedom and democracy.
In that spirit I want to publicly thank all of the hypocritical, greedo, two faced dirt balls in the city government of Saint Augustine -- many of whom I believe belong in prison -- for the wonderful education and insights that they have given me in the past five years about corruption in government.
They alone are responsible for my own rekindled sense of patriotism and civic responsibility.
Rather than expending my energies in this issue on the continued illumination of their hypocrisy in Saint Augustine, I instead spent that time writing the above article on the 'War On Greed', and producing the 'War On Greed Song'.
My motivation can in many ways be directly attributed to their self serving viewpoints and behaviors.

For the record, however, there are a few things that the citizen's of this community should know and take note of:
1. Non Responsive Government! I have now e-mailed twice (as in TWO times), the following to our esteemed Mayor, George Gardner, and his fellow City Commissioners, Don Crichlow and Errol Jones:

This posting of the Baloneyspeak™ Forum,
and this last copy of the BANNED 'Saint Aug Dog'.

In addition I called Commissioner Errol Jones on the phone at his home.
He confirmed that he did indeed receive my e-mails (which were addressed to all three, as co recipients on the same email) and said that he would read my letter of petition at a regular commission meeting.
Two meetings however, have come and gone, and Mr. Jones, Commissioner Don Crichlow, and Mayor George Gardner -- who all three recently ran on platforms of a more responsive and available government -- have not contacted me, or mentioned this correspondence in any of their public meetings, or the issue of corruption that I, along with others, have continually raised.
They continue to stonewall this issue.
It is extremely interesting to note that they have had public conversation in commission meetings about possibly changing the law that bans my newspaper, the 'Saint Aug Dog', and yet they have never mentioned the 'Saint Aug Dog' by name, or the fact that the current law bans newspapers and regulates content of newspapers, or said anything about the massive corruption that has taken place in the very recent past that many citizens want investigated.
My, my, my, how very interesting.
How very cowardly.

2. Get the Real History on the Public Record! For those of you who still believe that this greedo City Commission constitutes a responsive government for other than the greedo business community, and that the rule of law here in Saint Augustine is not a total scam, I suggest you request that the city print out a hard copy of all pages of the 'Fountain of Baloney™ web site for entry into the public record.
It will prove very useful in future litigation with the city.
Let me explain.
The web site includes almost all past issues of the 'BANNED 'Saint Aug Dog' newspaper, and many of the stories of individuals oppressed by the criminally enacted protectionist laws that you seek to have repealed, i.e., 2000-03, 2000-09, and 2000-41. This material should be entered into the public record during the public discussion session of the proposed replacement laws.
These materials will then have to be reviewed by any judge, in any future litigation, when the latest version of these Jim Crow laws are challenged, should any of you 'believers' in the efficacy of the rule of law here in the city be foolish enough to spend your time and money in that kind of an effort.
This will go a long way in off setting the dog and pony show that I am sure the greedo business community will mount, specifically for that purpose.
We all remember the Attorney Kahn presentation, where he paraded the city brown noses to the lectern to express their heart warming concerns for our public safety. SAPD Officer, Barry Fox, who was shortly thereafter named 'SAPD Officer of the Year', put on a particularly notable performance with his Saint Greed Street map, his acetate overlay, and all of the citizens exercising their FREE SPEECH rights reduced to problematic little dots on that acetate overlay. Attorney Kahn himself, righteously read a small mountain of testimony directly into the record.
All of that testimony was considered in the past Federal Court decision made when Attorney Wasserman was representing Larry Horton.
Attorney Kahn's excessive presentation, and the lack of testimony from those advocating FREE SPEECH (because most of them had been run out of town by City Manager, Bill Harriss's SAPD goon squad), played a part in Attorney Wasserman not getting his desired ruling.
Putting these web site pages on the public record will greatly offset all of the greedo testimony and compensate somewhat for the horrendous attrition rate of street artists and performers that has taken place in the city over time.

3. More 'Back of the Bus" Jim Crow Laws! By now I am sure it is obvious to even the most brain dead among us that in this past election there was a major greedo snow job perpetrated and that for the greedo business community itself the election was more about an internecine squabble -- don't put that nasty, smelly, vagrant attracting, diesel bus fume generating monstrosity of a parking garage in my uppity neighborhood, put it over there in the kid's playground where I will make more money.
The snow job of course had to do with a few of our new commissioners guilefully posing as just regular folks and capitalizing on the enormous discontent and anger of the many Saint Augustine residents who are upset by the unfair and self serving practices of the greedo business community.
But let's be positive here.
It is worthwhile to keep in mind that despite that greedo squabble element of the election -- and the big snow job perpetrated by Crichlow, Gardner, and Jones -- a loud, strong, and clear signal of general community discontent with the greedo business community was registered by the voters! Significant other gains were also made by the residents and workers of the city -- the good old boys are gone, and the business community is now squabbling betwixt and between themselves.
Hurrah! That's a good thing!
Pat yourselves on the back Saint Augustine.
It is also interesting to note that the internet played a great part in this past election.
I can not say enough about the leveling effect it is having to offset the stranglehold in communications that the business community has had in the past in this community.
The Saint Augustine Wreckit is slowly being forced into the light.
They still have a long way to go however!
Keep those emails flowing to one another Saint Augustine, and if you can get behind the politics in this issue, I urge you to pass it on to a friend or neighbor.
There is more work to be done here in the city;
A. Demand An Investigation! Keep demanding an investigation of corruption of past criminal actions of city officials! Do not let the deaths of John Victor Powers and his little dog Ewokee be all in vain. Harriss and Wilson SHOULD NOT be getting your tax dollars. They represent an odorous residue of the good old boy system that needs to be eliminated. They were the behind the scenes movers and shakers for the gigantic parking garage fiasco just overturned. I do not know how the newly elected business faction can trust these insiders of the old guard, after all, they [Harriss and Wilson] were highly instrumental in all of the inside machinations that the good old boys were using to shove the parking garage down the throats of this newly empowered business faction

B. Be Specific! Some specific items to be looked into; the two warrant less searches made on private property, and the subsequent impounding and trashing of my BANNED newspaper and the political protest materials of many other citizens; the early morning arrest of City Commissioner candidate Roger Jolley; the running out of town of the hundreds of street artists and musicians; the death of John Victor Powers and his little dog Ewokee; etc., these actions must not go unpunished!
These issues WILL NOT go away!

C. Take Back the Community Center! The generalized community discontent must also be addressed. The Greedo Customer Information Center must be returned to its former use -- it is in reality a PRIVATIZED Community Center! The playground must also be restored. We need fairness and restoration of Civil Rights before we spend one red cent on any new parking garages in our ever growing smaller kid,s playground, or meeting the needs of the already over indulged with YOUR tax dollars greedo business community.
These issues also WILL NOT go away!

D. Stop This 'Back of the Bus' Treatment! And finally -- there must be NO registration or licensing schemes for artists or musicians who wish to exercise their FREE SPEECH rights!
This is America!
We have a Bill of Rights that millions of Americans have fought and died for.
Our liberty and our freedom is the underpinning of the greatness of our nation.
The current plan put forward to limit those who wish to exercise their FREE SPEECH rights to evening hours only is despicable!
This is a second class citizen scheme!
It is just like putting Americans of African descent in the back of the bus!
It is the same old Jim Crow bullshit!
Saint George street is a public American street!
REASONABLE time, place, and manner regulations, that apply to ALL citizens EQUALLY, are all that is necessary.
This issue WILL NEVER go away!
